Dr. Lisa Sumption, DAOM, L.Ac., is a nationally board certified and licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, obtaining both her Masters and Doctorate degrees from the renowned Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. She has comprehensive training and clinic experience as an acupuncturist at NYU Langone Medical Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, and participated as an acupuncturist in the research study ADDOPT (Acupuncture to Decrease Disparities in Outcomes of Pain Treatment), a study assessing the adoption and implementation of acupuncture as a treatment for chronic pain in an urban primary care setting at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Sumption has served as guest lecturer at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Stress Reduction with Acupuncture) and Pacific College of Medicine-NY (Facial Rejuvenation with Acupuncture). Dr. Sumption currently sits as a board of directors for the Acupuncture Society of New York (ASNY) and the Professional Ethics and Disciplinary Committee for the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She maintains a successful private practice in Manhattan where she specializes in woman’s health, musculoskeletal disorders and allergies. Her treatments blend traditional techniques with her studies in applied kinesiology.
