Queer and transgendered (TG) individuals are a small, but growing group within the community at large and thereby also as potential patients. This group is increasingly visible, not because there are more people who are becoming or recognising that they are transgendered or queer, but because it is less stigmatised than as little as 10-15 years ago.
When treating transgendered (TG) and queer patients there are several factors that need to be taken into consideration. In this lecture I will try to summarise some of the issues that it is useful to be aware of, both with regards to potential aetiology as well as understanding a patients background and situation
