Abstract:

The clinical significance of arterial pressure waveforms has been remarked upon since ancient times. Traditional Chinese Medicine Pulse Diagnosis (TCMPD) has especially stood out among these techniques. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) physicians use three fingertips to diagnose a patient’s health status.1 The main challenge is the translation of the physician sense of touch into a measurable signal. The problems related to the lack of objective reference point have described by experts recently: "Subjective in nature, it takes years of practice to gain expertise in this type of pulse measurement".2
"Despite its importance, palpation is subjective and mysterious".3
FeelIT is a budding spinoff from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, developing artificial touch sensing smart patches. Basically, FeelIT technology can feel the sense of touch as human does. Experts believe it could revolutionize traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) by reducing human error and providing uniform, quantitative diagnoses quickly. FeelIT will supply a complete solution which includes a pulse diagnosis device and an online software services which will answer the physician needs.
