Dr. Gady Konvalina was born in Haifa, Israel in 1977. He received his B.Sc. (Cum Laude) in Chemical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (2007). During and after his B.Sc. studies he worked in the microelectronics industry at Tower-Jazz Ltd. as a process engineer (2005-2008). Gady received his Ph.D. (direct track) from the Technion through the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute (RBNI) based on his research on nanomaterial based sensors under the supervision of Prof. Hossam Haick (2014). After graduating Gady held a post-doctorate position in Prof. Haick’s research group (2015-2016) working on the development of a touch sensing smart patch platform which laid the technological and business foundations for the spin-off FeelIT.
Awards and Fellowships: The Leonard and Diane Sherman Interdisciplinary Graduate School Fellowship awarded for distinguished academic achievements (M.Sc. period – 2010); The Lev-Zion Excellence Scholarship awarded by the Israeli Council of Higher Education for three consecutive years (Ph.D. period 2012 – 2014); The European Materials Research Society Young Scientist Award for outstanding paper contribution in E-MRS 2014 Spring Meeting, Lille, France, based on his Ph.D research; The Sanford Kaplan Prize for Innovative Technologies, Bronica Entrepreneurship Center, Israel (2016); The Hershel Ritch Technion Innovation Award for "High Resolution Touch Sensing Smart Patches" (2016).
Currently Gady is co-founder and CEO of the start-up FeelIT, developing human-like touch sensing solutions for pulse diagnosis applications.
